Dr. Durgesh Narain Singh, CSO, BioNEST-BHU Secures ₹1.8 Crore AMR Research Project Under UK-GAMRIF Initiative

We are proud to share that Dr. Durgesh Narain Singh, Chief Scientific Officer at BioNEST-BHU, has secured a prestigious ₹1.8 Crore research project to address the environmental transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR)—one of the most pressing global health challenges today.

The project is supported by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), Bengaluru under the AMR programme in Enviornment by DHSC, under the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Innovation Fund (GAMRIF), Government of the United Kingdom.

The project will be led by Dr. Durgesh Narain Singh as Principal Investigator, focusing on developing innovative technologies to monitor and prevent the spread of antimicrobial resistance in environmental systems such as wastewater. Prof. Anchal Srivastava from the Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, is bringing interdisciplinary expertise to the initiative.
