24 Hrs Agri-Hackathon jointly organized by Atal Incubation Center BHU & BioNEST-BHU was successfully conducted on 21st & 22nd July at Central Discovery Center of Banaras Hindu University.
Inauguration Ceremony of the Hackathon was held on 21st July in presence of Prof. Sujit Kumar Dubey (Director, Institute of Management Studies, BHU) & Prof. Yashwant Singh (Director, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU), Prof. P V Rajeev (Professor-in-charge, Atal Incubation Center), Mr. Saikat Sen (CEO, BioNEST-BHU) & Mr. Prashant Ranjan (CEO-in-charge, Atal Incubation Center BHU).
The hackathon commenced with a workshop on Design Thinking by Mr. Saikat Sen where participants learned about various aspects of Design Thinking through in an interactive session i.e. user empathy, ideation and prototyping. It followed by a workshop on B-plan preparation was also organized for the participants by Dr. Abhijeet Singh (Professor, Institute of Management Studies, BHU) to get them familiar with the various aspects of B-plan.
A total of 84 participants in 28 teams participated in this hackathon on various problem statements related to agriculture.
On Day-2 of this Hackathon, Participating teams presented their ideas to the jury members. Dr. Virendra Kamalvanshi from IAS, BHU; Dr. Abhishek Dutt Tripathi from Dairy & Food Technology, BHU; Mr. Saikat Sen & Dr. Durgesh Narain Singh from BioNEST-BHU were the jury members for the final presentation of the hackathon teams.
28 Teams rigorously prepared through this 2 day hackathon to compete for the best ideas in five given problem categories. Mentors Mr. Sagar Anand (Advocate, Supreme Court), Mr. Rakesh Tiwari (Founder, Boatrides.in) & Mr. Shubham Srivastava (Founder, TheHostel.in) were available along with the Coordinators Mr. Divyanshu Sinha, Ms. Vanshika Sharma, Mr. Shubham Dwivedi & AIC Core team to provide mentorship and support to participants with their research and presentations.
At the end of the hackathon, valedictory ceremony was held where winning teams were presented with memento, goodies and certificates by Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi (Director, Institute of Science, BHU & Coordinator, BioNEST-BHU) & Prof. Sujit Kumar Dubey (Director, Institute of Management Studies, BHU)
